Microdrama app leaderboards: revenue and installs

The guide Top short drama apps by revenue and downloads covers this subject with newer figures.

Revenue and install rankings for the largest microdrama apps, each figure with the basis it rests on.

Revenue in this category is published on three different bases: app-store consumer spend, gross in-app purchase value, and company revenue. They are not comparable with one another, and the app stores' cut sits between the first and the third. Scope differs too: some series include China, which Omdia puts at 83% of global revenue, and others exclude it. A larger number in this table is not necessarily a larger business, and download rank does not map onto revenue rank.

Latest reported revenue

The league table mixes evidence classes: the chip on each row is what that figure actually rests on.

DramaBox~$530mestimate
My Drama~$150mcompany
ShortMax~$83mestimate
FlareFlow~$48mofficial
Kuku TV~$28mofficial
FlexTV$26.1mofficial

Latest full-year revenue: FY2025, except ShortMax, whose latest full-year figure is FY2024. The basis varies by company: filing-grade where marked official, a Sensor Tower estimate for DramaBox and ShortMax, and company-claimed for My Drama, whose figure is also cited elsewhere as a third-party estimate.

App-store installs. The figures mix full-year counts (DramaBox and ReelShort are FY2025 in the rankings table) with cumulative installs, and as-of dates vary across 2025 and 2026, so this is a ranking rather than a snapshot of a single day. Figures are Sensor Tower and DataEye estimates, except My Drama, which is company-claimed. Counts differ between sources: DataEye's H1 2026 leaderboard puts FreeReels above 218m against Sensor Tower's >100m cumulative by Q1 2026, and My Drama's >85m sits beside other accounts of more than 100m.

Correction

: The notes said the vendor behind the DramaBox and ShortMax revenue estimates was not named. Both are Sensor Tower estimates, and each revenue row now names its source.
