EU AI Act transparency duties apply, with about 190 code signatories
The Commission published its signatory list on 31 July, the last day of the month in which it had promised to publish. Section 1 carries 83 providers and Section 2 carries 152 deployers, with heavy overlap.
What this basis means: Regulatory filing, government body, court or industry association.
The AI Act's transparency obligations for AI-generated content entered application on 2 August 2026. The Commission published its list of signatories to the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-generated Content on 31 July, under the heading "Strong backing for the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-generated Content".
About 190 organisations have signed. Section 1, for providers, carries 83 names; Section 2, for deployers, carries 152. The two figures cannot be added: many organisations signed both sections, and a sum of 235 would overstate adoption by around 24%. About half of the signatories are small and recently founded companies. The code remains open for signature and the list is updated on an ongoing basis. Two implementation task forces launch in September 2026.
Section 2 signatories include Studio Funk, Nordpol+, PIA Media, Getty Images, Alter Ego Media (Greece), Delfi (Lithuania), Lrytas, 15min, Tedial Media, BoxStudio, Minio Studio and StoryTailors, alongside Deutsche Lufthansa, Aleph Alpha, Black Forest Labs, Parloa and E. Breuninger in Germany.
