China names 12 microdrama projects for state support in second of three tranches

The online audiovisual programme management department of China's National Radio and Television Administration published a notice on 4 September 2026 listing 12 works as proposed recipients of support under its premium microdrama production and distribution programme.
The notice states that projects for the programme are being collected in three tranches. For the second, provincial broadcasting authorities and centrally administered units submitted nominations, and the administration convened an expert panel to review the applications. Two of the twelve titles are named in the text: Zizhi Tongjian (资治通鉴), first season, and Beigui Zhi Xiangbei (北归之向北). The remaining ten appear only in an accompanying image rather than in text.
The projects are described as proposed rather than awarded. Written objections, bearing an organisational seal, were to reach the department by 11 September 2026, with late submissions not accepted.
A readout published by the same department on 1 September 2026 put the administration's first support tranche at 16 projects. No monetary value has been published for either tranche.
