aTwist to release new microseries weekly and window titles through BET

In a launch interview, Jana Winograde and Susan Rovner described weekly releases timed to cultural moments, minute-long episodes, and a BET arrangement distributing microseries on both linear television and vertical. No pricing was disclosed.

What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.

aTwist will release new shows every week rather than publish a large library at once, chief executive Jana Winograde said in an interview with TheWrap published on 3 September 2026, the day the microseries service launched.

Winograde said programming would be timed around holidays and other cultural moments, and framed the weekly cadence as a response to retention, which she called an issue for most apps in the category. Chief content officer Susan Rovner described the episodes as a minute long, ending on cliffhangers she compared to act breaks in network television.

Rovner described the company's arrangement with BET as a first-of-its-kind windowing model, under which microseries are developed and distributed across both linear television and vertical, on the reasoning that linear cable needs low-cost programming. She also said the service is deliberately programming beyond romance.

The interview named a further title, a Mario Lopez family project, and said comedy from Hartbeat sits under an LOL banner. No pricing, subscription tier, financing or territory expansion was disclosed.
