Snap-commissioned Ipsos study says short-drama viewers on Snapchat spend over $50 a month
A survey of 3,000 daily social media users in the US, UK and Saudi Arabia, commissioned by Snap Inc. from Ipsos, reports that Snapchat users spend more than $50 a month on average on short-drama platforms.
What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.
Snap Inc. published research on short dramas on 21 September 2026, conducted with Ipsos. The survey covered daily social media users aged 18 to 45 in the US, the UK and Saudi Arabia (n=3,000, of whom 1,719 were daily Snapchat users).
According to the accompanying report, Snapchat users spend more than $50 a month on average on short-drama platforms. The report says 69% of short-drama watchers on Snapchat spend money on the category each month, 1.4 times the rate of non-Snapchat users, rising to 80% in Saudi Arabia; Snap's blog post describes the same 69% as a share of daily Snapchat users. It also says 32% of short-drama watchers on Snapchat downloaded a short-drama app after seeing an ad or clip on the platform, against a 28% average for other platforms.
The figures are survey responses rather than measured spending, and the research was commissioned by a company that sells advertising to short-drama apps. No fieldwork dates were published.
