Room418 announces horror-only vertical platform with invite-only beta

The Los Angeles-based studio and platform plans an invite-only beta in fall 2026, with adaptations of Night of the Living Dead and a Wattpad horror title among its first projects.

What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.

Room418, described by Dread Central as a Los Angeles-based studio and platform for horror content made for vertical viewing, announced its first projects on 2 October 2026. Deadline also reported the announcement.

The first two titles are adaptations of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead, which Dread Central notes is in the public domain, and of Ben Sobieck's When the Black-Eyed Children Knock, which originated on Wattpad. The outlet reported that ten original and adapted projects have been optioned.

An invite-only beta is planned for fall 2026, with licensed horror content at launch and original productions to follow; a commercial launch is to come after the beta. The company's website describes the service as "Streaming Soon" and invites creators to submit original horror projects. Deadline identified Dylen Postnikoff, formerly of Blink49 Studios, CBC and Shaftesbury, as co-founder and chief executive, and reported that KINO Studios is building the app's product and technical infrastructure. Other partners named were Slash Management, on an original with horror creator Monse Gutierrez, and Los Angeles-based REELi Studios, on a series inspired by Filipino folklore. Funding, ownership, pricing and app-store availability were not stated.
