The Bundestag's Committee for Culture and Media has removed the government's MedienInvestVG bill from the agenda of its sitting on 4 November 2026. An amendment notice issued by the committee on 3 November states that agenda item 1 is withdrawn ("Tagesordnungspunkt 1 - abgesetzt"). The item covered the government bill, Bundestag paper 21/7820, together with related motions from the Greens and Die Linke. The notice gives no new date.

The committee's notice of 29 October had listed the bill as the first item for the 4 November sitting, with votes requested for that day. Trade outlets DWDL and turi2 reported on 3 November that the coalition had postponed the concluding deliberation because of internal disagreement.

The committee held a public hearing on the bill on 14 October 2026.
