UFA is the German production company behind the country's principal daily dramas, among them Alles was zaehlt and Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten for RTL. On 3 September 2026 its producer Guido Reinhardt told Blickpunkt:Film that the company is already developing vertical microdrama ideas and intends to take first concrete steps within the year. He described the format as standalone rather than a shortened daily, with its own dramaturgy and a different distribution route, and named a possible shape: a modern form of spin-off from established daily brands in which known characters live a parallel story told exclusively for the smartphone. He said international usage figures mean the development has to be taken seriously, and that it is not yet resolved how the format becomes a viable business model for producers in Germany.
