UFA says it is developing vertical microdrama around its German daily dramas
Guido Reinhardt, producer of RTL's Alles was zaehlt, told Blickpunkt:Film the producer intends first concrete steps this year and sees vertical spin-offs of established daily brands. No format, partner or date was named.
What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.
UFA, the German producer behind the RTL daily dramas Alles was zaehlt, Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten and Unter uns, is developing vertical microdrama ideas, Guido Reinhardt said in an interview published by Blickpunkt:Film on 3 September 2026.
Reinhardt, who created and produces Alles was zaehlt, said the company is already developing ideas in that direction and intends to take first concrete steps within the year. A vertical microdrama would not be a shortened daily, he said, but a standalone format with its own dramaturgy and a different distribution route. He described a possible shape: a modern form of spin-off from established brands such as Alles was zaehlt, Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten and Unter uns, in which known characters live a parallel story told exclusively for the smartphone. International usage figures, he said, mean the development has to be taken seriously.
He added that it is not yet resolved how the format becomes a viable business model for producers in Germany. No commission, partner, budget, title or platform was named.
The interview was published ahead of the 20th anniversary of Alles was zaehlt on 4 September. Reinhardt also confirmed that RTL will end Unter uns from March, and said UFA is working on concepts to continue the daily with possible new partners.
