OMR finds no German microdrama platform in market and announced series unreleased
A two-part OMR investigation published on 27 August finds no German microdrama platform in market. EiLiN's launch has moved to late summer or autumn 2026, and series announced by Constantin and Banijay in the first half of the year have not appeared.
What this basis means: Reported by a named news outlet, and traceable to neither a filing, a research vendor, nor the company itself.
OMR published a two-part investigation of the German microdrama market on 27 August 2026, reported by Christian Cohrs with interviews across creators, production companies, app developers, agencies and prospective advertisers. It is the first substantial original German-language reporting on the subject since a five-part DWDL series in June.
No German microdrama platform is in market. EiLiN, the consumer platform from Vertical Minds, has moved its launch to late summer or autumn 2026 and budgets originals at EUR 150,000 to 250,000 per title. The company has abandoned two earlier approaches, licensing and acquisition of Asian or US catalogue, in favour of its own originals plus second-window German titles.
Constantin Entertainment has 15 to 20 microdramas completed or in development, but the two 60-episode English-language series it announced for Crisp Momentum have not been released. The 28-part creator-cast microdrama Banijay Productions Germany announced in March 2026 is not live.
Between the Beats, the vertical series produced by Red Pony and Saxonia Media for the public broadcasters Radio Bremen and Saarländischer Rundfunk, fell from around 32,000 views on its opening episode to around 4,500 on its finale on TikTok.
The piece names several other German companies, among them Trophic in Hamburg, which co-developed and holds an investment in the US platform GammaTime, and Moonvibe, whose 2022 self-financed series Young Hearts drew more than 3m views per episode.
