Former UK digital minister Damian Collins takes the chair at Screenburn Group
C21Media reported on 20 August that Collins had become chairman of the London company behind the Screenburn writing tool and the CherryBowl vertical-drama tracking service, which says it is preparing to open a funding round this autumn.
What this basis means: Reported by a named news outlet, and traceable to neither a filing, a research vendor, nor the company itself.
Damian Collins, formerly the UK's Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy, has become chairman of Screenburn Group, C21Media reported on 20 August 2026. Odiri Iwuji, a co-founder of C21 Media, joins the company's board of advisors. The founders are Charles Kriel and Kat Gellein Viken.
The London company runs two products. Screenburn is a screenwriting tool with a retention-scoring engine the company describes as patent pending, offering nine output formats including microdrama. CherryBowl is a cataloguing and rankings service for vertical series.
C21Media reports that the company is preparing to open a funding round this autumn. No amount, valuation, lead investor or participant has been disclosed, and no round has been announced as raised.
The company's stated catalogue scale differs between two of its own descriptions published within a day of each other. The C21Media report gives more than 74,000 titles and 3.6m episodes across 27 platforms and 32 source languages. The company website gives more than 35,000 vertical series across 19 platforms. Both figures are company-claimed and the difference is unexplained. For scale, the tracking site verticaldrama.tv listed 3,804 titles across 34 platforms in its 20 August edition, on a narrower census definition.
C21Media's report concerns an appointment involving its own co-founder. The relationship is stated in the article.
