COL Group takes FlareFlow into Thailand and sets a microdrama upfront in Singapore
Announced at ContentAsia LIVE in Bangkok on 26 August: a FlareFlow-branded section inside CP Group's existing TATANG by TrueID platform from September, and Inside Microdramas, a pre-financing showcase in Singapore on 27 October.
What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.
COL Group made two announcements at ContentAsia LIVE in Bangkok on 26 August 2026.
The first is a three-part arrangement with Thailand's CP Group. A FlareFlow Mini section is to launch in September inside TATANG by TrueID, which the companies describe as CP's existing short-form drama platform rather than a new service. Thai remakes are to follow from October with AI-generated content in the workflow, alongside a talent incubation programme with a Thai academic institution.
The second is Inside Microdramas, a marketplace event scheduled for Singapore on 27 October 2026, run with VIRTUE Asia and V47 Entertainment, whose chairman David Webster is quoted. Around ten projects are to be presented before financing, alongside sessions described as greenlight sessions.
An upfront implies commissioners committing against a slate before production. That is a different financing sequence from the one the field has generally used, in which titles are produced first and acquired or promoted afterwards. The underlying partnership between COL Group, VIRTUE Asia and V47 Entertainment dates to June 2026; the event is new.
