COL Group's Q3 revenue falls 44% as overseas short drama shifts to AI production
The Shenzhen-listed parent of FlareFlow reported lower quarterly revenue and a narrower nine-month loss, and attributed a fall in cost of sales partly to moving overseas short drama to AI production.
What this basis means: Regulatory filing, government body, court or industry association.
COL Group (中文在线, SZSE 300364), the parent of the short-drama app FlareFlow, reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of RMB 254.8m, down 43.95% year on year, in its quarterly report filed on 26 October 2026. Revenue for the first nine months was RMB 832.7m, down 17.64%.
The net loss attributable to shareholders was RMB 89.1m for the quarter and RMB 132.1m for the nine months, against RMB 520.4m a year earlier. Cost of sales fell 32.91%, which the company said was mainly because part of its overseas short-drama output moved to AI short-drama production. Selling expenses fell 41.84%, on lower overseas promotion spending.
The report also said FlareFlow had agreed a multi-market distribution partnership with the telecom operator Digicel in Central and South America and the Caribbean, is available on Whale TV, and has a short-drama cooperation with Thailand's CP Group.
