Marseille Web Fest programmes a vertical strand for its 16th edition
The French festival's October programme carries keynotes on short drama, AI-assisted writing and vertical financing, with Gaumont Television France and France 3 PACA taking part.
What this basis means: Reported by a named news outlet, and traceable to neither a filing, a research vendor, nor the company itself.
The Marseille Web Fest published the programme for its 16th edition, running 15 to 17 October 2026 in Marseille, with a strand on vertical formats concentrated on the opening day.
Thursday 15 October carries a fireside session on the state of vertical formats and a keynote titled "Short Drama, le nouveau territoire de la fiction ?", given by producer Guillaume Sanjorge, founder of Duanju News. A further keynote on AI and screenwriting for short drama is given by Sophie Attelann, author and director and founder of VerticalClap. Anne-Sophie Maxime of France 3 PACA speaks on reaching younger audiences with new formats.
On 16 October, Isabelle Degeorges, president of Gaumont Television France and president of the French producers' union USPA, takes part in a session on the future of fiction that names short drama and vertical formats. Screenwriters Irene Camargo de Staal and Marine Gacem discuss how the formats change screenwriting.
The festival's three competition selections remain international, French and web-documentary. Vertical appears in the conference programme only, with no competition category or market attached. Ecran Total is the strand's partner and its journalist Louis Poree moderates several of the sessions.
