A+E Global Media puts microseries at centre of distribution plan ahead of Mipcom

A+E Global Media said almost 200 of its programmes have been reformatted as microseries for third-party licensing, and that it plans seven original vertical series for the Lifetime app by the end of 2026.

What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.

A+E Global Media is making short vertical microseries a major part of its distribution strategy ahead of the Mipcom market, C21Media reported on 8 October 2026. According to the report, almost 200 of its programmes have been reformatted as microseries and are offered for third-party licensing, including Cold Case Files, I Survived, Alone, Forged in Fire, Hoarders and Married at First Sight.

The company also unveiled three original microdramas from Microhouse Film: Tides of Temptation, Matched With a Murderer and His Lies Taste Like Love. A new series is to launch on the Lifetime app every two weeks, with a stated goal of seven originals by the end of the year, including two holiday series from VertTV. Seven existing Lifetime library titles are being reformatted for the app.

Elaine Frontain Bryant, head of programming for A&E, Lifetime and LMN, said the aim was to use the format to strengthen the brand and deepen fandom. The report names no buyers and gives no sales figures.
