What this basis means: Third-party research vendor estimate. The vendor is named wherever the source identifies it.
Dentsu's Entertainment Spotlight 2026, a survey of 8,400 consumers in 12 markets released ahead of Mipcom Cannes, devotes a chapter of ten findings to microdramas. One in five consumers said they watch microdramas and a further 12% said they were interested. Dentsu reports the strongest adoption in Asia-Pacific, naming China, India and Malaysia, and says 67% of baby boomers had not heard of the format.
Among viewers, 62% said a typical session lasts longer than one hour. DramaBox, My Drama and ReelShort were the platforms respondents most often subscribed to, across all regions, while 35% said they watch microdramas only for free on social media. Only 20% said there were too many ads in microdramas, which Dentsu puts at half the share saying the same of broadcast television.
Dentsu does not list the 12 markets or state fieldwork dates on its report pages. Per-market values appear only in charts. The figures are Dentsu's survey results and are framed around brand integration.
