S4C, the Welsh-language public service broadcaster, has commissioned Signal, a drama in 60 vertical episodes, from the independent producer Mojo Productions. The series runs on the TikTok channel of Hansh, the broadcaster's youth brand. S4C announced the commission in a press release dated 22 July 2026; C21Media reported it the following day.

Signal is S4C's second vertical drama. The first, Yr Alwad, was also made by Mojo Productions and is described by the broadcaster as the first Welsh-language vertical series. It was nominated at the National Film Awards for Best Vertical Series and at the Broadcast Digital Awards in the Best Short-Form Scripted category. S4C has published no audience figures for Yr Alwad.

Signal follows a romance between a boy from Cardiff and a girl from rural Wales. Leads Gwenan Lloyd, Gabriel Owen and Joshua Romain were found through an open casting call. Gwenno Hughes leads the writing team. Guto Rhun, S4C's young audiences commissioner, cited changed viewing behaviour; chief content officer Llion Iwan placed the format within an announced shift toward digital services.

S4C said principal photography was beginning that week at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells, where the Royal Welsh Show ran from 20 to 23 July 2026. A later German trade report said the series was in post-production.
