Four US vertical launches and deals land in a single day

vertTV, New Short Media, muVpix and BuzzFeed Studios all surfaced on 22 July: a subscription vertical platform, two studios and a 100-title production pact.

What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.

Four vertical video launches and deals appeared within a 24-hour window on Wednesday 22 July 2026, all first reported by Deadline and confirmed through same-day syndication in TVNewsCheck and IBTimes UK, both published 22 July.

vertTV is a new subscription vertical platform from Schenck, Barnholtz and Sullivan, with more than 200 titles at launch and a Fuller House reunion featuring Sweetin, Brotherton and Sokoloff. The company describes itself as "applying a traditional television network mindset". It is a Western premium subscription proposition rather than a coin model, alongside VeYou.

New Short Media is a premium micro-series studio from Alon Shtruzman and Scott Einbinder, alongside 5X Media, backed by a "consortium of investors", with development led by Gev Miron and Russell Rothberg.

muVpix, founded by John Lewis, is a vertical drama studio distributing through TikTok, Reels, Shorts and FAST channels on connected TV.

BuzzFeed Studios has signed a pact with muVpix for more than 100 vertical titles in two years, starting with Romeo & Juliet, Reimagined in August. BuzzFeed had already produced more than 25 microdramas over the preceding 18 months.

Taken together, the cluster is the clearest evidence so far of established US studios and platforms entering microdrama at platform level.
