Prime Video adds on-demand short-form news clips to its US television apps
The clips are news rather than scripted vertical drama, and sit alongside the short-form Clips feature Amazon launched earlier. They are open to all US users, not only Prime subscribers.
What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.
Amazon said on 14 September 2026 that it is expanding news coverage in Prime Video to include on-demand local and national news clips. The clips appear in the app's News destination, surfaced through Trending Topics and Local News carousels. Amazon said the feature is live first on televisions and living-room devices, with web and mobile to follow, and that it is available to all users in the United States regardless of whether they subscribe to Prime.
Amazon disclosed no audience, usage or revenue figures with the announcement.
The clips are news rather than scripted drama. The feature is separate from Clips, the vertical discovery feed already in Prime Video.
