China's NRTA opens 2026 International Micro-drama Competition, entries due 30 November
A notice from China's broadcasting regulator invites finished micro-dramas and original scripts from producers worldwide, across five competition units, with submissions closing on 30 November 2026.
What this basis means: Regulatory filing, government body, court or industry association.
China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) published a notice on 30 September 2026 (广电办发〔2026〕245号) announcing the 2026 International Micro-drama Competition. The competition is guided by the NRTA's international cooperation and online audiovisual programme departments, hosted by the Sichuan provincial broadcasting bureau and organised by Chengdu Radio and Television.
It has five units, including one on Asia-Pacific and APEC cooperation and one for original scripts aimed at overseas distribution. Entries are open to producers, distributors, platforms, universities and individual creators in China and abroad.
Works already broadcast in China must give their online audiovisual licence or filing number; works aired abroad must provide proof of broadcast. The deadline for submissions is 30 November 2026. The notice states that the NRTA held the competition in previous years as well.
