Busan's content market gives microdrama two dedicated sessions

The Asian Contents and Film Market runs 10 to 13 October with programming on microdrama and generative AI, including a partnership with Kling AI.

The Asian Contents and Film Market, the official market of the Busan International Film Festival, has finalised its 2026 programme. The 21st edition runs from 10 to 13 October 2026, inside the 31st festival, which runs from 6 to 15 October.

Two sessions address microdrama directly. InnoAsia carries The Evolution of Microdrama: China and Beyond, and a second session, Rags 2 Richmond, covers the path from viral microdrama to feature film and the handling of trans-media intellectual property.

The Chinese video-generation service Kling AI has partnered with the market for a session on AI in filmmaking, with an accompanying networking reception. InnoAsia comprises 44 organisations across 11 programmes. The market's Producer Hub programme includes sessions on how streaming and short-form platforms are changing the business.

Attendance and transaction figures published alongside the announcement relate to the 2025 edition and cover the market as a whole rather than microdrama.
