Mediacorp, SBS's Studio S and SoonShot to develop four Singapore-Korea microdramas

Singapore's Mediacorp announced a partnership with Studio S and the short-form platform SoonShot for four microdramas. The first, a short-form adaptation of the 2018 Korean comedy Still 17, is targeted for release by the end of 2026.

What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.

Mediacorp, Singapore's national media network, announced on 15 September 2026 a partnership with Studio S, the drama production and distribution arm of South Korean broadcaster SBS, and SoonShot, a short-form K-drama platform co-founded by the Korean comedian Lee Kyung Kyu. The three companies will develop four short-form productions, which Mediacorp describes as microdramas, featuring actors from Singapore and South Korea.

The first will be a short-form adaptation of Still 17, a 2018 South Korean romantic comedy, and is targeted for release by the end of 2026. The remaining three titles are to be announced progressively, and casting for all four is under way.

The announcement was reported by CNA, which is owned by Mediacorp. No budget, episode count, distribution platform or deal value was disclosed. Mediacorp announced a separate long-form Korean co-production, Collateral Romance, at the same time.
