Bavaria Fiction and Engizek Films have begun shooting in Munich on a romantic dramedy with the working title The Munich Billionaire, DWDL reported on 19 October 2026.
The project is being made in two versions: a 90-minute feature in 16:9 and a 50-part vertical series in 9:16. According to DWDL, both were developed together from the start rather than one being adapted from the other. Ekrem Engizek, who wrote the script and produces, was quoted as saying that vertical fiction is not a shortened feature film.
The vertical episodes are planned for release worldwide on 9n16.com, while the feature is to be exploited internationally on its own. Michael Hilscher is executive producer and Sascha Ommert, head of production at Bavaria Fiction, is service producer. Barbara Elisabeth Bühl and Klemens Valentino Laumer lead the cast.
No budget, release date or audience figures were given.
