Amavizion prices a 45-minute vertical season at £1.49, paid once
The UK pay-per-view service launched Shambles on 15 July: 36 episodes, 45 minutes in total, sold outright rather than unlocked episode by episode with coins.
What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.
The UK pay-per-view streamer Amavizion launched Shambles on 15 July and announced it on 16 July, reported by C21Media (Nico Franks). It is the service's first commission under a vertical originals initiative: 36 episodes of 45 seconds to two minutes, 45 minutes in total. The company prices the full season at £1.49, which it gives as US$2.01 and which converts to roughly €1.72.
The series is an 18-rated comedy about three housemates in Cape Town, directed and produced by Bonnie Rodini (Good Life, The Story of an African Farm) for Rodini Films in South Africa, with Angela Daytona Wu, Anathi Godlo and David Viviers.
The pricing is the notable part. ReelShort, DramaBox, GoodShort and ShortMax monetise through per-episode coin unlocks or subscription, where the total cost of finishing a series is not fixed at the point of entry. Amavizion sells a season outright. It also does not build a standalone app: co-founder Gaurav Kanabar says vertical "is not a side project - it lives in our mobile apps… running in 40-second bursts". Head of programming Phil Ox is quoted saying "vertical television is the north face of the Annapurna of this industry. Most people look at it and turn back."
