ReelShort enters Indonesia through Vidio, on a short-drama shelf that already existed
The Emtek-owned streamer announced on 26 August that ReelShort titles would appear in its premium packs from 1 September. Vidio's short-drama section was already live in early August carrying local titles, and the company's own blog gives no title count.
What this basis means: Disclosed by the company about itself, and not independently confirmed.
Vidio, the Indonesian streaming service owned by Emtek, and ReelShort, operated by Crazy Maple Studio, announced a content partnership on 26 August 2026. ReelShort titles are to appear from 1 September inside Vidio's existing premium packages: TV Extra, Platinum, Platinum Extra, Ultimate Mobile and Ultimate All Screen. It is ReelShort's first platform partnership in Indonesia.
The partnership was described in coverage as launching a new short-drama section. An Internet Archive capture of Vidio's short-drama category page dated 9 August 2026, seventeen days before the announcement, shows the section already live with around 51 Indonesian-original microdrama titles and no ReelShort references. What is new is the ReelShort inventory rather than the section.
A figure of more than 200 titles dubbed into Bahasa Indonesia appears in the joint announcement. Vidio's own blog post, published 27 August, refers instead to thousands of episodes and gives no title count.
The announcement also refers to co-productions with Indonesian production houses, none named, and credits AR Global Media Network as broker. That company trades as AR Asia Productions, founded in 2022 by Anne Chan with Jonathan Spink and Ronan Wong; it announced an Asia-Pacific distribution arrangement with ReelShort in December 2025.
Around a dozen outlets carried the announcement from a single joint release. Liputan6, Fimela and KapanLagi belong to the same group as Vidio.
